Many things have changed since our last newsletter, and it's being hard to keep you all updated. We know it's sometimes hard to read such a long, long text, but be sure we try our best to summarize everything as much as possible, to make it easier, and faster, for you. deviantART is a really active place, that's great but also a nightmare from time to time; it's an alive creature!


Things go well for him, as far as we know. skifi seems to be in the middle of thousand waves of change, shaking him vigorously at work, about art, and in a personal way too. Stubborn as he is, we have faith he will survive after the storm. After all, he has been in worse battlefields, and has great supporters behind his back.


Last weeks, Cooley has also been in the eye of a furious hurricane, but our dear sister drew strength from nowhere and now she's back with us to keep caring for the Anthro Community as she usually does. Be expecting more amazing interviews and new Anthro Weekly Challenges, and a lot of new, amazing pictures by her, once she beats this devious art block.

There is an article about the forum and both ^cooley and ^skifi would appreciate any of you who fav it and help advertise the new forum.


deviantFilm have 2 projects on the go right now: The first project is The deviantART webring project - our attempt to build up our film community within deviantART and build together groups and increase activity, to make the deviantART experience more enjoyable for film makers. The second project is the '08 Ani-jam, the first of its kind on deviantART, it's a collaboration for animators to come together and build a film (or 2) with a loose criteria. The official launch is Feb 29th, but consider this advertising a pre-launch to build interest.


Both ^cooley and ^skifi have tricked ^ArtisticAunJuli to host together the Famous Anthros Contest. From Feb 1st to March 15th, you have the chance to win deviantART subscriptions, devWear t-shirts, and even a jewelry set! Click the link to read the rules and submit your entry.

1. ~fragmeister has launched Jump Start the Heart, a contest/awareness project about Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (when adults basically die for no reason). Your art can win some prizes and could eventually be printed and showcased at the end of June 2008 in a live exhibition in the UK.
2. =onnaevilsmith hosts a contest, to encourage you to draw females, not necessarily anthro, and you can win deviantART subscriptions if you win.

1. AnthroCon, to be celebrated in Pittsburgh, PA, Jun 26-29. This is the world's largest convention for those fascinated with anthropomorphics, with workshops, panel discussions, an art exhibition and a dealer room, and much more.
2. Eurofurence, the biggest annual European anthro convention, in Suhl, Germany, Aug 27-31, is called this year "Horrorfurence 14: From dusk till dawn". Try to wonder the theme they're going to feature there...
3. MiDFurX, an Australian Anthro convention to be celebrated in Melbourne, Dec 12-15. They're estimating around 200-350 local attendees, not including international guests. Artists alley, dealers den, panels, special guests, workshops, etc. A themed Masquerade 'FurBall' on the saturday night, Live interviews, and a perfect excuse to travel overseas...
